Mary Frances Gravitt

Mary Frances Gravitt, age 82 of the Plainville Community died at 10:50 AM, Sunday, August 28 at her residence. She was born, September 17, 1928 in Fulton County, daughter of the late Jack Jones and Mary Magdalene Byrd Jones. Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Fredman "Ted" Gravitt in 1997, a great granddaughter, Brittany Gravitt Rosser in 2010 and a brother Jack "Buck Jones. Mary was employed by Triad Yarns prior to her retirement. Mary is survived by two sons, Tommy Gravitt and his wife Hilda and Howard Gravitt; three daughters, Janice Cantrell and her husband Larry, Betty Mae Smith, Diane Randolph and her husband Bill, all of Plainville; one sister, Betty Crane of Denby, Virginia; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 12 great, great, grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 30 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Ken Coomer officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery near Plainville. Pallbearers are Steve and Michael Gravitt, Shane and Keith Dutton, Marty Randolph, Cody and Austin Kinsey, and Kevin Parker. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 PM Tuesday.
