Mary Brooks Smith, age 74 of Adairsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her residence.
Mary was born on September 16, 1943 in Anniston, Alabama to the late Russell Brooks and Mary Thomas Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sid Smith. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, and was formerly employed by Apache Mills. Mary was an avid quilter.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Mary Stinnett and her husband Eric of the Dew’s Pond Community, Connie Duke of Rome, and Rebecca Smith of Florida; brother, Johnny Brooks and his wife Sheila of Rocky Face; three sisters, Ann Lawrence of Sweet Water, TN, Evelyn Bartlett of Atlanta, and Sarah Turner of Atlanta; seven grandchildren, Whitney Stirnemann and her husband Derek, Christopher Mabala and his wife Mandilyn, Michael Mabala, Erica Stinnett, Eric Stinnett, Jr., Jessica Randle, and Jacob Duke; fourteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, January 5th at 2 PM from New Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Corbin officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are Kirk Holder, Eric Stinnett, Sr., Johnny Brooks, Eric Stinnett, Jr., Derek Stirnemann, and Michael Mabala.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 4th from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
