Mary Kathryn "Katie" Arkin

Mary Kathryn “Katie” Arkin, age 24 of Acworth and formerly of Calhoun, passed away on July 31, 2015 in St. Simon’s Island, GA. Katie was born on June 6, 1991 in Roswell, GA. She was the daughter of David Arkin and Susan C. Malone. Katie attended Sonoraville High School and graduated from Etowah High School in Cherokee County. She attended Chattahoochee Technical College and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Katie was a fun loving person with a big heart, and lived life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by a grandmother, Maria C. Ciraolo. Survivors include her father, David Arkin and his wife Kathy of Calhoun; mother, Susan C. Malone of St. Simon’s Island, GA; grandmother, Claire S. Malone; brother, David “Alex” Arkin and his wife Shannon of Acworth; and two nieces, Bella and Zoey Arkin. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 13th from 6 PM until 9 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
