Mr. Marvin George McDougle, Sr., age 68, of Adairsville. Died Saturday morning July 12th at his residence following several months of declining health.
Marvin was born in Gordon County July 14, 1939. Son of Edna Mae Sutherland McDougle and the late Marvin LaFayette McDougle. He was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Marvin loved the outdoors and Fox Hunting. He was a poultry and cattle farmer.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Charlotte Williams McDougle of Adairsville. Three sons, Marvin George McDougle, Jr. of Adairsville, Michael Allen McDougle and his wife Tonya of Rydal, and Mitchell Oscar McDougle and his wife Ginger of Adairsville. One daughter, Phyllis Linda Cochran of Calhoun. Three brothers, Johnny McDougle and his wife Rose, Dale McDougle and his wife Susan, and Steve McDougle and his wife Jerri all of Adairsville. Three sisters, Joyce Jones and her husband Frank of Adairsville, Jean Albrecht of Resaca, and Juanita Young and her husband Jim of Missouri. Eleven grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday July 14th at 2pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Lamar Beason and Rev. Crawford Greeson officiating. Entombment will be held at a later date in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Gibson officiating.
Pallbearers serving include, Marvin McDougle III, Ricky Crook, Reed Crook, Garrett Cochran, Dwight Scott, and Logan McDougle. Honorary Pallbearers will include, Mitchell Dodd, MacRae Williams, Dave West, Rayburn McDougle, Howell West, Odas Crook, Carlton Rogers, and Johnny Beason.
The family will receive friends after 1pm Sunday at the funeral home.
