Martha Lee Worley

Martha Lee Worley, age 95, of Calhoun, passed away Saturday October 29^th at her residence.

Martha was born June 21, 1927, in Whitfield County, daughter of the late George Lowery and Gussie Brown Lowery. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Gordon County. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Bascomb” Worley, her son, John “Shag Worley, her brother, Billy Lowery and her sister, Helen Brown.

Survivors include her daughter, Gayle W. Spearman; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Worley. Four grandchildren, Robert Jones and his wife Ramona, Gary Pettit and his wife Tara, Laura Lynn Jordan and her husband Chris, and Caron Brown and her husband David. Several great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday October 31^st at 11 am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Michael Blackstock and Rev. Michael Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving will include John Watkins, Robin Lowery, Gary Pettit, Robert Jones, Mathew Worley, and Lamar Brown.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 5pm at the funeral home.
