Martha Ada Silvers, age 90 of Calhoun and formerly of Key West died at 9:15 AM, Wednesday, January 11th at her residence.
Ada was born in Gordon County May 16, 1926, daughter of the late Virgil Parker and Jessie Brackett Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Silvers and her son, Harry Silvers. She was of the Seventh Day Adventist Faith.
Ada is survived by her daughter, Kathy Silvers Mangum and her husband Bryant of Gastonia, North Carolina; siblings, Johnny Parker, Kenneth Parker, Avie Autry, and Susie Bone; daughter in law, Patricia Silvers of Calhoun; grandchildren, Savannah Mangum, Melissa Mangum, Elizabeth Mangum Fisher, Stephanie Mangum Sanders, Tiffany O’Connell, Todd Silvers, Teresa Bateman, and Rodney Silvers; great grandchildren, Kevin Michael O’Connell, Austin O’Connell, Chase O’Connell, and Jordan Silvers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 14th at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Jack Price and Chaplain Dave Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 13th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
