Martha Stewart Owen

Tuesday, April 08, 2008 Martha Stewart Owen, age 68 of Calhoun. Died Tuesday morning April 7th in Gordon Health Center. Mrs. Owen was born in Gordon County May 25, 1939. Daughter of the late Jess R. and Esty Dobson Stewart. She was a lifelong resident of Gordon County and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Dimple Fuquea, J.C. Stewart, Margie Davis, Louise Chapman, and Jane McBee. Survivors include two brothers, Joe Stewart of Calhoun and Kenneth Stewart of Cartersville. Four sisters, Tommie Sutherland and her husband Dallas, Dora Dean Mealer and her husband Paul, Ann Whitfield and her husband Leroy, and Brenda Rogers and her husband Ronnie all of Calhoun. Nieces and Nephews as well as all of her special friends at Gordon Health Care. Graveside rites will be conducted Thursday April 10th at 2pm at Gordon Memorial Gardens with Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating. Pallbearers serving include Rodney Rogers, Michael Stewart, Ron Carter, Joey Stewart, Ronnie Van Dyke, Jody Holton and Kenneth Fite. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 pm. Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Martha Stewart Owen.
