Martha Ann Murphree

Martha “Marti” Murphree, age 64 of Calhoun died Saturday, August 10 in Floyd Medical Center. Marti was born, September 25, 1948 in Bacon County, a daughter of the late Wallie A. Strickland and Janie V. Henderson Strickland. She also was preceded in death by a son, David Murphree, July 1, 2013 in Nixa Missouri. She had made her home in Gordon County for over 45 years, and was a member of the Calhoun Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Marti is survived by her loving husband, Donald Murphree; two daughters, Diana Puryear and her son Ashton Puryear, and Debra Murphree; one daughter in law, Allison Murphree and her children Wesley, Logan, Amber, and Roselyn; one son, Daniel Murphree and his wife, Caroline and their children, Rebecca, Thomas, and Catherine; nine sisters, and forty nine nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Marti will be held at 5:00 PM, Tuesday, August 13 at the Calhoun Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
