Marshall Ed Worley, age 74, of the Rock Creek Community, passed away Tuesday morning April 26th at his residence surrounded by his family.
Ed was born June 5, 1941 in Whitfield County, GA to the late Milton Worley and Mellany Cole Worley. He was a member of West Union Baptist Church. Ed was a veteran of the United States Army. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Willene Arnold Yother.
He is survived by two sons, Marty Worley and his wife Hope, and Mitch Worley and his wife Denise all of Calhoun; brother, Earl Worley and his wife Ann of Rocky Face; four sisters, Joyce Silvers and her husband R.V., Glenda Presley, Wanda Griggs and her husband James all of Dalton, and Beverly Stafford and her husband James of Rock Spring; four grandchildren, Dakota Worley and his wife Brittany, Odell Worley and his wife Haley, Wyatt Worley, and Sky Cooper and her husband Jeremy; five great-grandchildren, Braleigh Rollins, Bryar Worley, Brentley and Reece Worley, and Alyssa Cooper.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, April 28th at 11:00 AM at West Union Baptist Church with Reverend John Dorsey. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Sky Cooper, Odell Worley, Wyatt Worley, Dakota Worley, Bruce Painter, and Travis Presley.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 27th from 5 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. Ed will lie in state on Thursday from 10 AM until the funeral hour at 11 AM at the church.
