Marlene Coats

Marlene Rigsby Coats, age 51 of Sugar Valley, passed away on Thursday evening, May 1, 2014 in Gordon Hospital. Marlene was born on December 31, 1962 in Whitfield County. She was the daughter of Larry Rigsby and Dovie Jean King Rigsby. She attended both Dogwood Valley Baptist Church and The Way of the Cross Church. Marlene was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Jeffery Scott “Chip” Coats of Sugar Valley; her parents, Larry and Dovie Jean Rigsby of Dalton; her two sons, Brandon Coats and his wife Kimberly of Resaca, and Jason Coats and his wife Brandy of Sugar Valley; two brothers, Jimmy Rigsby, and Brent Rigsby and his wife Miranda all of Dalton; one sister, Gloria Crane and her husband Donald of Rome; five grandchildren also survive. Memorial Services will be on Saturday, May 3rd at 2:00pm at The Way of the Cross Church with the Reverend Roy Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends after the Memorial Service on Saturday at the church.
