Marilyn Shephard

Tuesday, May 12, 2009 Mrs. Marilyn Shepard, age 67, of the Villanow Community died Tuesday May 12th at her residence. Marilyn was born in Cherokee County, AL., October 21, 1941. Daughter of the late James Elmer and Opel Gail Peacock Quarles. Prior to her illness was the switchboard operator at Gordon Hospital. Her son; Craig Miles Shephard, her brothers Gene Quarles and Ted Quarles preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband; Joe Shepard and her daughter; Sharon Shephard both of Villanow Community. Sister; Sue Nesbitt and her husband Donald of Calhoun. One grandchild; Brandon Miles Shephard and a great-grandchild; Aidan Miles Shephard. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday May 14th at 3pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Chaplin Dave Smith and Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Cemetery in Villanow with Rev. Dwayne Shadix in charge of graveside rites. Pallbearers serving include; Johnny Dorsey, Frank Printup, Brandon McDaniel, Tom Pickle, and Randy Quarles. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 3 until 9pm.
