Marilyn Ann Freeman

Marilyn Ann Freeman, age 46 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

Marilyn was born on October 26, 1977 in Rome, GA, daughter of Mary Jo Slaughter Freeman and the late Robert “Bobby” Freeman. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by: a sister, Mary Freeman; grandparents, Clinton and Fannie Slaughter, Marion Freeman, and Rose Ella Gallman; uncle, Samuel Slaughter; and aunts, Cherry Holder and Linda Hunter. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Despite her disability, Marilyn tried to help others any way she could. She enjoyed talking with others and reading to children. Marilyn loved her mother with all of her heart and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Marilyn is survived by: her mother, Mary Jo Freeman; three sisters, Lisa Cooper, Renay Parker, and Rose Marie Hope; one brother, Marvin Freeman; aunts, Juanita Ray and Shirley Fuller; numerous cousins and friends; and Mika, who was her second mom.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Trey Stephens officiating. Cindy Banks will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Union Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving include: Blake Banks, Gene Smith, Doug Banks, Joseph Wheaton, Josh Wheaton, and J.J. Kile.
