Thursday, January 18, 2007 Mrs. Marie Glass Hicks age 85 of 22 Maple Ridge Drive, Cartersville, Ga. died Thursday Jan. 18th. in Cartersville following an extended illness. Mrs. Hicks was born in Floyd County, Ga. on Oct. 12, 1921 daughter of the late Alexander and Henrietta Mitchell Glass. She was a member of the Peeples Valley Baptist Church , was retired from the Southern Sample Company and in addition to her parents was preceded in death by her husband; Ernest L. Hicks, two brothers; John and Edgar Glass both of Rome. Survivors include one daugther and son-in-law; Linda and Casey Malone of Adairsville, two sons; Victor Erwin of Warner Robbins , Ga. and Allen Hicks and his wife Peggy of Morganton , North Carolina, one brother; L.C. Glass of Fayetteville, Ga. and two sisters, Irene Higdon of Cartersville and Willie Ellis of Rome, Ga., 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted ate 11:00 A.M. Saturday January 20th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Revs. Les Connell and Leon Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Memory Gardens in Rome. Jason Malone, Steve Miller, Jeremy Fowler and Corey Hicks will serve as pallbearers and are asked to meet at the Funeral Home at 10:45 A.M. on Saturday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. Saturday until the Funeral Hour.
