Marie Cook

Marie Cook, age 97 of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday morning, March 10, 2015 in Gordon Health Care. Marie was born on January 27, 1918 in Cherokee County, daughter of the late A.J. Land and Ollie Duck Cook; she was a homemaker and member of the Northside Church of Christ. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Clifford Cook and an infant daughter, Sandra Jean Cook. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Colson of Calhoun. Two grandchildren; Anthony Guice and Lindsey Pack, two Kandis and Karli Guice. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted March 11th at 4pm from the Northside Church of Christ with Minister Kent Bailey and Minister Terry York officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwood Springs Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Louie Watkins, Wayne Bowen, Marvin Dixon, Perry Dixon, Mitch Holbrook, Ron Hall, Bobby Hall and Don Harrison. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening after 5pm.
