Marian King

Marian King, age 84 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living. She was born in Atlanta on March 4th, 1930 to the late Franklin Denman and Eula Sadler Denman. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was the Author of the three part series, “It happened on Kendall Mountain.” Owner of King’s Skating Palace in Calhoun, and previous owner of Dixieland Florist in Atlanta. She was past president of Northside Business Association in Atlanta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack B. Goza, second husband, Harvey King, two sisters, Frances Bobo and Mildred Earnshaw. She is survived by her two sons, Pat Goza and his wife Elaine of New Zealand, Scott Goza and his wife Mary of Marietta; Daughter, Janet Ryle and her husband Lawrence of Macon; step-daughter, Peggy Denler and her husband Veryl of Minnesota; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren also survive. Graveside service will be conducted 2pm Wednesday July 2nd at Green Lawn Cemetery @ 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia with Rev. Ray Bobo officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday June 29th from 2 until 4pm at Thomas Funeral Home.
