Maria Cho Teng, age 61 of Calhoun died at 12:17 AM, Sunday, August 8 in Floyd Medical Center of Rome following an extended illness.
Maria was born, July 8, 1949 in Taipei, Taiwan, a daughter of the late Hsu Schra-Sun Cho and Chen Tung May Cho. She and her husband, Hai Peng Teng were the owner-operators of Peng's Pavillion Chinese Restaurant at 1120 South Wall Street, Calhoun. They had lived in Calhoun since 1988 and were members of the Calhoun Community Church.
Maria is survived by her husband, Hai Peng Teng; one son, Brian Teng, two daughter, Maddie Garrard and Jennifer Crump all of Calhoun; one brother, Gene Cho of Taiwan; two sisters, Billie Stewart of Bluff City, Tennessee and Linda Chen of Kennesaw; one grandchild, Joseph "JOJO" Garrard of Calhoun.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Tuesday, August 10 at the Calhoun Community Church, 1588 Highway 41 South ( beside Calhoun L.P. Gas) with the Reverend Jerry Rice officiating. Ben and Jessica Riley will be in charge of music. Pallbearers are Brian Peng, Adam Stewart, Kip Crump. Shawn Chen, and Kyle Chen. They are asked meet at the church at 6:30 PM Tuesday.
The Teng family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the church preceding the funeral service.
