Margie Tate West, age 76 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in Gordon Hospital.
Margie was born on April 13, 1937 in Gordon County to the late Walter Tate and Beatrice Silvers Tate. She attended Sugar Valley Baptist Church and was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell West; a son-in-law, Mike Broyles; and three brothers, Alvin Tate, Thomas Lee Tate, and Wilburn Tate.
Survivors include her son, Gary West and his wife Betty of Jackson, GA; daughter, Gail Broyles of Calhoun; one brother, Donald Tate and his wife LaVerne of Dalton, GA; one sister, Martha Talley and her husband Vernon of Calhoun; three sisters-in-christ, Sue Howington Tingle of Chattanooga, TN, Nancy Kirby of Resaca, and Mary Lynn Corby of Calhoun; one sister-in-law, Frances Tate of Sugar Valley; seven grandchildren Weston, Nicholas, Jonathan, Zachary, Sara Kate, Aaron and Andrew also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, September 15th at 2:00pm from the Sugar Valley Baptist Church with the Reverend Brandon Grubbs and Reverend Mitch Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
