Margie Louise Davis

Friday, July 24, 2009 Mrs. Margie L. Davis, age 84 of Calhoun died at 4:00 AM, July 23 at her residence following an extended illness. Margie was born in Gordon County, July 14, 1925, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grady Taylor. Her husband, Ford Davis, a sister Evelyn Honea and a brother Grady Taylor, Jr. also preceded her in death. She and her husband Ford were the proprietors of Ford’s Supermarket, Calhoun’s First Supermarket. Also, she was a member of Echota Baptist Church. Margie is survived by one son, Dr. Larry A. Davis and his wife Lauren of Calhoun; one brother Jerry Taylor of Rhode Island; one grandson, Jeff Davis and his wife Sandra; two great grandchildren, Joshua and Gabriella Davis all of Roswell;step-grandchildren Greer and Alex Taylor of West Plam Beach,Florida, Will Ostuw of Calhoun and Emily Ostuw of New Orleans, Louisiana. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 26 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Brent Davis officiating. Burial will be in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers are Will Ostuw, Paull Dill, Douglas Hasty, David Honea, and Tommy Curtis. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:30 PM, Sunday.
