Mrs. Margaret Smith Wilson, age 90, of Calhoun and formerly of Grenada, MS. Died Wednesday afternoon June 24th in Calhoun Health Care.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Panola County, MS., October 8, 1918. Daughter of the late Jesse Guy and Alma Ferrell Smith. She had spent most of her life in Grenada and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grenada. She had lived in Calhoun for the past year and was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon B. Wilson and a son-in-law Billy Tierce.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean W. Sharp and her husband Gary of Hendersonville, TN., and Carolyn W. Tierce of Calhoun. Three sisters, Clyde S. Nored of Grenada, MS., Virginia Smith of Houston, TX., and Rose Smith of Dodge Center, MN. Grandchildren, Beth and Greg Jobe, Bill and Tootsie Tierce and Ray and Darlene Tierce. Great grandchildren, Andrew Tierce, Jacy Jobe, Wil Tierce, and Olivia Tierce.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday June 27th at 11am CST from the chapel of Garner-Harper Funeral Home, 719 South Main Street, Grenada, MS, 38901. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
The family will receive friends at Thomas Funeral Home in Calhoun, GA. Thursday evening from 6 until 8pm and at Garner-Harper Funeral Home Saturday morning from 9 until 10:30am prior to the funeral.
