Mrs. Margaret Eloise Moore age 92 of 101 Roberts St, Calhoun, died Wednesday August 13th. at the Gordon Hospital following a sudden illness.
Mrs. Moore was born in Bartow County , Ga. on March 6, 1916 daughter of the late James Culberson and Lula Mae Smith Culberson. She grew up in the Snow Springs Community near Adairsville and was married to Odis Crutchfield Moore on Sept. 1, 1943 who preceded her in death in 1980. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Jo Nan Gaines in July 1993, a son James “Jimmy” Moore and four brothers and five sisters. She was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church, the Esther Sunday School Class and the Order of the Eastern Star. During her working life she was sales clerk/assistant manager of Jackson’s & Southern 5 & 10 Store.
Survivors include one son Tom Moore of Calhoun, great-grandchildren; Kaylan Gaines, Nico Jones, Avery Gaines, JoNan Gaines, Kale Gaines , Jackson Moore and Sophie Moore, grandchildren; Jonathan and Laura Gaines of Calhoun, Jeremy and Domekia Gaines of Ringgold, Jessica Gaines of Calhoun, Thomas and Allison Moore of Richmond, Va., Chris and Kelly Moore of Marietta and Matthew Moore of Jacksonville, Alabama, Sisters; Doris Hight of Shannon, Ga.. Lucille Littlefield of Adairsville, and Joyce Chastain of Rome, Ga. , nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted at11:00 A.M. Friday August 15th. from the Calhoun First Baptist Church with Dr. Burt Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. Friday. Honorary pallbearers include Forever Young Choir, the Esther SS Class, Lonnie and Jane Daniel, Doug Roebuck, Thelma Glanton and Frances Jackson and they are asked to meet at the Church at 10:45 A.M. Friday.
Jeremy Gaines and Carolyn Thompson will have charge of the music.
The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6:00P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday Evening.
