Marcella Dyer Robbins, age 89 of Calhoun died at 1:05 PM, Friday, August 22 at Calhoun Health Care.
Marcella was born, October 20, 1918 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Amos Talmadge Robbins and Elizabeth Dyer Robbins. She was retired from Klopman Mills of Shannon after 34 years of service and was a member of the Salem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Fannie Henderson Robbins who raised her from age 3, a brother Arnold Robbins and a sister Marriam Bowman.
Marcella is survived by two sisters, Doris McClesky and her husband Duke of Clemson, South Carolina and Bernice Johnston of Bartow, Florida; a brother Wesley Robbins and his wife Marie of Calhoun; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 25 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverends Ralph Kinman and Barry Saunders officiating; Kirk Robbins will have charge of music and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry Saunders, Greg Saunders, Michael Saunders, Freeman Robbins, D.C. Kinman, and Charles Kinman. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10: 45AM Monday.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and 6:00 until 9:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
