Mae Dinsmore Fowler Wehunt, age 89 formerly of Calhoun, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Cumming Nursing Center. Mae was born on June 28, 1923 in Murray County. She was the daughter of the late Louis C. Dinsmore and Kathryn Morrell Dinsmore. Mae was a member of the Salooca Baptist Church, and was a textile worker most of her life, retiring from Crown Craft Industries. She enjoyed sewing, doing alterations and quilting for her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her first husband, Vernon Fowler in 1960; second husband, Rev. Charlie A. Wehunt in 1999; and son, Richard Fowler in 2003; four sisters: Gwendola Goble and Agnes Parm, Lucille Hix and Edith White; and two brothers: Grover and Earl Dinsmore. Survivors include: two daughters: Jane Shaw and her husband David of Dawsonville, GA, and Sue Gunter of Conyers, GA; one daughter-in-law, Jane Fowler of Calhoun; one brother, W.J. Robinson of Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren: Terrell Gunter, Kyle Gunter Forte, Kenny and Stacey Fowler and Leigh Ann Shaw Cannady; great-grandchildren: Chad, Kaysee, Leslie, Paige Forte and Will and Sam McIlvain and Jennifer Gunter; great-great-granddaughter, Brooke Forte; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 12th at 1:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Mitch Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove (RYO) Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 11th from 4 – 8pm at the funeral home.
