Mrs. Mae West Pruitt, age 92 of Calhoun died at 7:46 PM, Friday, August 13 in Gordon Health Care of Calhoun.
Mrs. Pruitt was born, June 27, 1918 in Gilmer County, daughter of the late Harvey West and Pearl Nealy West. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer T. Blalock and her second husband Doyle Pruitt. She had lived most of her life in Calhoun and had been employed by Georgia Textile for 48 years. She was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Frank Blalock and his wife Lynn of Calhoun; one granddaughter, Traci B. Sexton of Calhoun; one sister, Cleo Pisoni of Forest Park; two step-grandsons, Brian and Jeff Cunningham; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 16, at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeff Hawkins officiating; Jim and Treva Sellers will have charge of music, and burial will be in Fain Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Mac Knight, Kemp Mauldin, Bruce Thomas, Donal Crump, Lynn Walter, Buddy and Harry West, and Tommy Huff. Honorary escort is Lora Belle Crump, Mick West, Brad Huff, Rachel Hunter, and Mitzi Fowler.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
