Lynda Jane Layson

Lynda Jane Layson, age 69 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at her residence. Lynda was born on December 10, 1943 in Gordon County. She was the daughter of the late James Norris Holcomb and Aileen West Holcomb. She was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her son, Lance Layson; brother, Jimmy Holcomb; and sister, Carole Jones. Survivors include: one son, Chance Layson and his wife Kelli of Savannah; her daughter, Lee Anna Tims and her fiancé Craig Zeigler of Springfield, GA; daughter-in-law, Linda Layson; seven grandchildren, Victoria, Rebecca, Gracie, Caroline, Conner, Alex and Tiffany. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, March 7th at 4:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Dr. Stephen Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include: Lance Bentley, Eric Jordan, Russell Thomas, Bruce Davis, Jake Davis, Will Smith, Chip Jenkins and Derrick Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Tucker and Jerry Mulkey. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 7th from 2pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
