Lura Dean Pollock

Thursday, November 06, 2008 Mrs. Lura Dean Holland Pollock age 85 of . Resaca, Ga. died Wednesday evening in Gordon Health Care following several months of declining health. Mrs. Pollock was born in Eva Tennessee on August 4th. 1923 daughter of the late Boyd and Bedie Browning Holland. She was a charter member of the Resaca Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter; Floyce Pollock, a son; Ronnie Pollock, a grandson; Todd Henderson and a brother; J.W. Holland. Survivors include three daughters; Gaynell Bowman and her husband Willie of Warner Robbins, Ga., Jewel Henderson and her husband Bruce of Resaca, and Joyce Parker of Resaca, a special niece; Jodi Christian and special niece, roommate and Friend; Floy Walraven, six grandchildren; Denise Blackwell of Chatsworth, Patricia Nations of Resaca, Adam Bowman of Warner Robbins, Buffy Elrod, Star Pack and Christie Price all of Summerville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday November 8th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Blackstock officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Resaca. Pallbearers serving include Bruce Henderson, Willie Bowman, Adam Bowman, Mark Blackwell, Chris Pack and Shawn Nations and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. Saturday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening.
