Lucy Alva Jean Chadwick, age 79, of Calhoun. Went to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of February 5th, 2011.
Mrs. Chadwick was born August 14, 1931 in Gordon County. Daughter of the late Robert L. and Alice Moreland. She was a member of the Calhoun Community Church and was devoted to her 2 and 3 year old students as a Sunday School teacher for more than 42 years at Crane Eater and East Calhoun Church of God. Mrs. Chadwick had worked at Astro Dye prior to her retirement. and, besides her parents was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Chadwick. Her grandson, Eric Chadwick, Sisters; Pat Moreland Kirby, Odessa Black, Bobbie Collis, Rae Timinski, and a brother, W.C. Moreland.
Survivors include her children; Donna King and her husband Jimmy, Mike Chadwick, Marie Mashburn and Pam Hudson and her husband Ken. One brother, Fred Tillerson. Her Aunt, Katie Clements. Eight grandchildren; Heather Hunt and her husband Wesley, Chad King and his wife Jennifer, Regan Black and her husband Richard, Josh Mashburn and his wife Heather, Katie Quarles and her husband Ross, Kelly Clance, Elliott Chadwick and his wife Amy and David Childress and his wife Marcie. Ten great-grandchildren; Madison Hunt, Owen Lingerfelt, Kendal Black, Hadlee Black, Stryker Black, Ian King, Janey Kate King, Ansleigh Quarles, Ambree Quarles and Callie Stokes. Her special friends, Horace and Kathy Woodard as well as a number of wonderful and special nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday February 7th at 11am from the Calhoun Community Church. With Pastor Jerry Rice and Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Owen Lingerfelt, Chad King, Ross Quarles, Richard Black, Elliott Chadwick and Josh Mashburn.
The family will receive friends after 1pm Sunday.
