Lucile Walters

Mrs. Lucile Walters, age 92, of Calhoun died Thursday evening January 13th at Gordon Health Care. She had formerly lived in Plainville for 38 years and had made her home for the past five years with her daughter Barbara. Lucile was born November 4, 1918 in Gordon County. Daughter of the late Calvin Richards and Laura Crowe Richards. She was a loyal member of the Unity Baptist Church in Plainville and prior to her retirement was employed by Pepperell Mills in Lindale. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Robert Copeland Sr. in January 1964 and her second husband, William Scott Walters in July 2009; three sisters, Bessie Rogers, Ruthell Davidson, and Stella Bishop. Survivors include one son, Robert Copeland and his wife Betty of Rome. One daughter, Barbara McEntyre and her husband Baron of Calhoun; a brother, Herbert Richards of Cartersville; one sister, Doris Puckett of Daytona Beach; three grandchildren; Kim Rogers, Holly Moore, and Haley Copeland; two great grandchildren; Alex Rogers and Gavin McDaniel; several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday January 16th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Manning and Reverend Al Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Cassville Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 5 - 8pm.
