Lovell Talley Brookshire

Wednesday, June 29, 2011 Lovell Talley Brookshire, age 88 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, June 28th in Emory University Hospital. Lovell was born April 14, 1923 in Chandler Mountain, Alabama, daughter of the late Grover and Nollie Boatright Withrow. She was a member at First Baptist Church and worked at Dixie Belle, Crown Craft, and Mohawk for fifty years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband; Jack Talley; her second husband; Floyd Brookshire; one son, Eugene Phillip Talley; three brothers; Claude, James and Willard Withrow; and two sisters, Nellie Smith and Ann Heliman; and a grandchild, Rhonda Brookshire. Lovell loved her family, the center of her life and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the foundation of her family. She loved her work and the people she knew at Dixie Belle, Crown Craft, and Mohawk. Survivors include; her daughter, Jackie Sullivan and her husband Jackie Sullivan; a step-son Richard Brookshire; a brother; Homer Withrow of Gadsden, Alabama; six grandchildren, Marc Sullivan and his wife, Melissa, Marlin Sullivan and his wife Sherry, Pam Wise and her husband Harry, Phyllis Green and her husband John, Regina Albritton and her husband Dwight, and Keith Brookshire; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, June 30th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with the Reverend Doug Roebuck officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral. Pallbearers are Marc and Marlin Sullivan, Keith Brookshire, Harry Wise, John Green, and Dwight Albritton. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:45 PM.
