Loudine Cochran Sharp, age 88 of Plainville, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at her residence.
Loudine was born on August 25, 1930 in Gordon County, only child of the late John Daniel Cochran and Sallie Fisher Cochran. Besides her parents and several siblings, Loudine was preceded in death by: the love of her life for seventy years, Clinton Sharp; her only son-in-law, whom she loved like her second son, Jerry Tippens; and a sister, Alma Serritt, whom she loved like a second mother, and her husband, Alec Serritt, who was her children’s only grandfather figure. She was a member of Snow Springs Baptist Church. Loudine graduated with top honors of her 1948 Class of Plainville. She had her life’s dream come true of owning her own fabric store for forty years, where she worked alongside her daughter, Gail.
Loudine is survived by: her two daughters, Gail Tippens of Plainville and Rita Sharp of Plainville; and only son, Wyatt Sharp and his wife Barbara of Plainville.
A simple Graveside Service to honor Loudine’s wishes will be conducted on Sunday, September 16th at 11 AM in Salmon Cemetery of Floyd County.
The family of Loudine would like to give special thanks to all the friends and family who brought food, prayed with them, and for listing them on the prayer lists at their churches. Words cannot express how much that meant to Loudine and her family.
