Lottie Mae McCarty

Tuesday, December 29, 2009 Mrs. Lottie Mae Bell McCarty age 78 OF 473 Mt. Vernon Drive, Calhoun, Ga, died at her residence on December 28, 2009. Lottie was born in Gordon County on April 3, 1931 daughter of the late Wayne Blake and Jessie Ruth Crawley Bell and was a lifelong resident of Gordon County. Lottie retired after working for Teagues in downtown Calhoun for over 30 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: James Edward McCarty, a brother ; John Bell and a sister; Dorothy Ruth Godfrey. Survivors include a special great-niece Heather Taylor and her husband Jon, great-great-niece and nephew; Anson and Abbi Taylor of Calhoun, a brother; Gerald Bell and his wife Sue of Fairmount along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday December 31st from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn and Rev. Eddie Brannon Officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; James Hyde, Blake Poole, Ken Jones, Gabe Jones, Larry Thacker and Donald Gallman. Honorary pallbearers will be; Kevin Thacker, Tyrone Dutton, Tanner Dutton, Chris Hicks , Derek Stanley and Jordan Poole and all these gentlemen are asked to meet at the Funeral Home at 10:45 A.M. Thursday. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening.
