Wednesday, August 13, 2008 Mr. Lonnie Fairley Hasty, age 64, of Calhoun. Died Tuesday afternoon August 12th in Gordon Hospital. Lonnie was born May 31, 1944 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. Son of the late Carlton Elijah and Verlin Helton Hasty. He was a retired mail carrier with the United States Postal Service with 30+ years of Service. He was a member of the Watts Chapel Baptist Church in Crab Orchard, Ky as well as Master Mason with the Coosawattee Masonic Lodge #306. Served in the local Ga Army National Guard Unit 108th Armored division. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Aolbert and Delmus Hasty. Survivors include his wife Charlotte Alred Hasty. Two sons; Douglas Hasty and his wife Charlin and Greg Hasty and his wife Katie all of Calhoun. Two grandchildren:Carolyn Hasty and Garrett Hasty, three brothers; Delbert and Bonnie Hasty of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ralph Hasty of Weaverville, N.C. ,Michael and Elda Hasty of Sugar Valley, Ga., four sisters; Imogene and Glenn Dockdry of Gaylesville, Al, Wanda Frix of Calhoun, Janet Swanson of Calhoun and Augusta and James Ray Manuel of Crab Orchard , KY, along with several nieces and nephews also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday August 14th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. The Coosawattee Masonic Lodge #306 will have charge of the graveside rites. Pallbearers serving include; Billy Neal, Buck McBee, Jack Brown, Richard Wright, Charley McBee, Mitch Frix, Phillip Beamer and Jim Johnson and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 P.M. Thursday. Members of the Coosawattee Lodge will serve as honorary pallbearers. Music will be arranged by Michelle Taylor The family will receive friends after 5pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
