Lonnie Stephen "Steve" Freeman, known to his friends and family as Steve, passed away on October 24, 2023, at the Pruitt Health of Fort Oglethorpe. He was born in Calhoun, GA, on December 21, 1952.
Steve had a fulfilling career at Springs Industry and made significant contributions to his field. His dedication and hard work were evident throughout his professional life.
Outside of work, Steve had a passion for playing the guitar and singing. He found joy in entertaining others with his musical talents. Additionally, he had a deep love for motorcycles and enjoyed the thrill of riding.
Steve's family meant the world to him. He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Elsie Freeman, his mother Dorothy Mae Turner, and his beloved wife Bonnie Ruth Jackson. Their memories will forever hold a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his loving daughters Marsha Thibodeau and her husband Joseph and Penny Butler. The bonds he shared with them were unbreakable, and they brought immense joy to his life. Steve's legacy also lives on through his siblings, Paul Freeman, Jerry Gravitt, Lisa Hollman, Tammy Silvers, Rhonda Pack, Robin Randolph, Kim Angel, and Heather Freeman, and a special friend Betty Tiller. Seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren also survive.
A visitation service will be held on November 1, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home located at 535 Red Bud Road N.E., Calhoun, GA 30701. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during this time.
Following the visitation service, a Celebration of Life event will take place at Thomas Funeral Home at 4:00 PM on November 1, 2023 with Pastor Cortney Thibodeau officiating.
Steve touched the lives of many people with his warm heart and infectious smile. He will always be remembered for his kindness, unwavering love for his family, and his passion for music and motorcycles. His memories will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
