Monday, February 15, 2010 Mrs. Lola Seritt age 91 of 212 Timms Rd., Calhoun went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 15, 2010. She was born on Jan. 5, 1919 in Walker County, Alabama, daughter of the late Sidney J. and Josie Shadwick Brumlow. She moved to Gordon County with her family in 1925 and spent the greater part of her life in Gordon County. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a retired textile worker, and a member of Crane Eater Church of God, where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher and was the Church Clerk for 25 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Dewitt Seritt, March 27, 1992, to whom she was married for 56 years, a sister; Ester Robers, brothers, C.H. Brumlow and John F. Brumlow, a sister Alberta Miller, a great-granddaughter, Kimberly Mullins and a son-in-law; Wayne Padgett. Sruvivors include two daughters and a son-in-law; Barbara & Tommy Mullins of Sugar Valley, and Edna Padgett of Resaca, a son and daughter-in-law; Roy and Vivian Seritt of Calhoun. Nine grandchildren, Kathy and Matt Talley of Calhoun, Steve and Kathy Mullins of Sugar Valley, Mike Mullins of Sugar Valley, Pam of Calhoun, Stacey Whitfield of Calhoun, Phil and Sandy Padgett of Sugar Valley, Shannon and Greg Patterson of Sugar Valley, David and Chanda Padgett of Adairsville and Daniel Padgett of Resaca. 10 great-grandchildren, 3 step-greatgrandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday Feb. 16th . from the Crane Eater Church of God with Pastor Howard Strickland and Paul Gay officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. On Tuesday the body will be carried to the Church to lie instate from 1:00 until the funeral hour. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers . Wayne and Karen Fauber and Donna Gay will have charge of the music. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. today (Monday) You may sign the online register book or express private condolences at WWW.thomasfuneralhomecalhoun.com.
