Lois Rutledge

Thursday, February 05, 2009 “MaMa” Lois Freeman Rutledge, age 97 the Resaca community died Wednesday evening, February 4, at 8:15 PM in Calhoun Health Care. MaMa Lois was born in Gordon County, October 13, 1911 a daughter of the late Henry Lincoln Freeman and Maude Chitwood Freeman. Also, she was preceded in death by her husband Mack O. Rutledge June 2, 1996 and a son Jack Rutledge. She was a life time resident of Gordon County, and was formerly employed by Chitwood Rug Company. She was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church. Momma Lois is survived by two sons, C.L. & Lynn Rutledge and Rickey Rutledge both of Calhoun; three daughters, Ruth Anderson of Calhoun, Linda Young and Sandy & dean Adams both of Resaca; a daughter-in-law; Jean Rutledge of Fairmount, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 7 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverends Henry Farmer and Jimmie Timms officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and burial will be in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rutledge family will receive friends from5:00 until 9:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
