Mrs. Lois V. Mulkey, age 90 of Ranger, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 25, 2015 at her residence.
Lois was born on February 25, 1925 in Pickens County to the late Joe and Mamie Silvers. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting and especially family gatherings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Mulkey; son, Larry Mulkey; brothers, Felt, Gordon and Junior Silvers; and sisters, Clois Mae Pack and Gladys Silvers.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Donnie Nichols of Ranger; daughter-in-law, Donna Mulkey of Fairmount; three grandchildren, Brian and Ruth Mulkey of Calhoun, Kim and Josh Mulkey of Fairmount and Brandy and Matthew Wooten of Fort Payne, AL; seven great-grandchildren, Brett Jones, Bethany Mulkey, Bailey Smith, Hunter Mulkey, Cayden Mulkey, Braden Wooten and Dakota Wooten; one sister, Annis and her husband Ed Mulkey of Ranger; and one brother, Elmer and his wife Della Mae Silvers of Ranger; and one sister-in-law, Martha Ann Silvers of Calhoun.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, May 28th at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Keith Gibson and Rev. Ed Pasley officiating. “The Gift of Life Singers” will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Liberty Baptist Cemetery in Ranger.
Pallbearers serving will be Brian Mulkey, Josh Mulkey, Matthew Wooten, Bobby Silvers, Randy Silvers, Edward Silvers and Rembert Pack.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
