Lois Abbott Bennett

Wednesday, September 03, 2008 Mrs. Lois Abbott Bennett age 92. of 2386 Lively Trail N.E. Atlanta, Ga. died Monday September 1st. at her residence following several months of declining health. Mrs. Bennett was born in Calhoun , Ga. on April 24, 1916 daughter of the late Festus Guy Abbott and Effie D. Long Abbott. She had been a resident of Atlanta for the past 50 plus years. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Decatur First Baptist Church, was a graduate of Calhoun High School and in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Edgar B. Bennett Sr. on June 3, 2003, a brother ; Barney Lee Abbott and a sister ; Loraine Smith. She is survived by two sons; Ed. Bennett Jr. of Signal Mountain, Tennessee and James Bennett of Atlanta. Private Graveside services were conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday September 3rd. with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating.
