Linda Whitfield

Linda G. Whitfield, age 67, of Calhoun passed away suddenly Thursday afternoon October 1st from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Linda was born in Pickens County, January 24, 1948, daughter of the late Roscoe Goble and Gwendola Dinsmore Goble. She was employed as an E.M.T. with the Gordon County E.M.S. for more than twenty years. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her baby brother, L.C. Goble and a sister, Mildred Baldridge. Survivors include her husband, Harry Whitfield of Calhoun, two sons, Ricky Fields of Jasper and Randy Fields of Ranger, one step-daughter, Pam Whitfield Mills of Calhoun; two brothers, Freddy Goble and his wife Dawn of Ellijay and Bobby Goble of Orlando, three sisters, Hazel West and her husband Hollice of Resaca, Pauline Cochran of Douglasville, and Margaret Goode of Jasper. Six grandchildren as well as numerous loving friends and family also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday October 4th at 4pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Tom Kleinberg, Kevin Goble, Jim Smith, Griffin Goble, Wayne Greeson, and Randy Fields. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3 until 6pm at the funeral home.
