Leroy Nichols

Leroy Nichols, age 80 of Adairsville, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012 in Heritage Health Care of Fort Oglethorpe. Leroy was born on June 10, 1932 in Young Harris, GA. He was the son of the late James Oliver Nichols and Ida May Powell. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Full Bible Church. Survivors include: his wife, Georgia Nichols of Adairsville; four sons: Ronnie Nichols of Adairsville, Gary Nichols of Cohutta, Bruce Townsend of Flowery Branch and Brian Townsend of Kennesaw; one daughter, Joye Nix of Chatsworth; four brothers: Dixon Nichols of Ringgold, Doug Nichols of Ringgold, Dan Nichols of Young Harris and Vick Nichols of Ringgold; one sister, Jean Nichols of Centre, AL. Eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 4pm on Sunday, December 16th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Lawrence Clay officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery in Adairsville. Pallbearers serving include: Lamar Nichols, Jacob Townsend, Jamie Townsend and Matthew Wheeler. Bill Cox will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 4 – 7pm on Saturday, December 15th at the funeral home.
