Leo Smith

Monday, June 14, 2010 Mt. Jack Leo Smith of Calhoun went home to be with the Lord on Sunday June 13, 2010 in Gordon Hospital. Leo was born in Gordon County on April 15, 1932 son of the late Horace Greeson Smith and Sybil Fuquea Smith and had spent his entire life here. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two children, Janice Smith and Marvin Lynn Smith and brothers; Walter, Johnny, David and Jerry Smith. Mr. Smith was retired from the Textile Industry. Survivors include one sons and daughters-in-law; Jerry and Loretta Smith of Chatsworth, Jacky and Karen Smith of Resaca and Annette Smith of Calhoun, the mother of his children Helen Smith Watson, sisters; Betty Dancker of Kansas City Mo, Sue Baxley of Atlanta, Judy Page of Marietta, Linda Smith of Dalton and Joann Towers of Dalton, brothers; Bill and Barbara Smith of Hill City, Ga. and Steve and Donna Smith of Mitchell, Ga. 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2;00 p.m. Tuesday June 15th from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Channell officiating. Interment will follow in the Campbell Cemetery.
