Mrs. Leila L. (Lillie Mae) Lackey, age 69 of 252 Farmville Rd. S.E., Calhoun, died Saturday evening in Gordon Health Care following several years of declining health.
Mrs. Lackey was born in Lumpkin County, Ga. on Sept 10, 1939 daughter of the late Mark and Roberta Ryder Lingerfelt. She had made her home in Gordon County for the past 60 years, was a homemaker and a member of the East Gate Bapatist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters; Maudell Anderson, Lois Smith and Annie Mae Blanton and five brothers; Garland, Hoyt, Edward, Claude and Mark Lingerfelt, Jr.
Survivors include her husband Billy Lackey of Calhoun, one son and daughter-in-law; Michael and Victoria Lackey of Calhoun, a step-son and his wife; Tony and Donna Lackey of Cassville, Ga. one daughter, Mary Higgins of Calhoun, one brother and sister-in-law; Grady and Ann Lingerfelt of Adairsville, one sister; Bessie Tinch of Adairsville, 4 grandchildren; Shea Higgins, Brody, Wyatt and Chase Lackey, and one great-grandchild; Mia Stokes along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday October 27th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Rogers and Rev. Clinton Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include Ronnie and Jett Lingerfelt, Lamar Tinch, Mike Stamey, Gene Holsomback and Bobby Dodd and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:30 P.M. Monday.
Gina Daniel will have charge of the music.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today (Sunday) from 5:00 until 9:00 P. M.
