Mrs. Laura Self Parman, age 83 of Calhoun , died Monday September 13th. at her residence following several months of declining health.
Laura was born in Argo, Alabama on July 26, 1927 daughter of the late Joseph and Mae Crowson Self. She had been a resident of Calhoun since 1993 and was a member of the Calhoun Seventh Day Adventist Church where she had also worked as a receptionist, switchboard operator and teacher. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Amos Self and Clifton Self. Two sisters; Helen Eadie and Rachel Self.
Survivors include her husband Carlos Parman. One son Terre Parman and his wife Lynette of Lakewood, WA. Two daughters; Sandy Parman and Debra Parman both of Calhoun. Two sisters; Sadie Liles Dart of La Grange, GA and Tula Mae Coble of Calhoun. Four grandchildren Chris Denham (Ruth Bowen), Daniel Denham, Michael Parman(Bunny) , and Andrew Parman. One great grandchild Christa Denham.
Funeral Services will be held at Calhoun Seventh Day Adventist Church on September 16th at 2:00 P.M. with Pastors; Phil and Jan White, Ken Mittleider, Fred Fuller, and Chaplin Dave Smith.
Internment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens.
On Thursday the body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 until 2:00 P.M.
Pallbearers include; Hal Coble, Chris Denham, Michael Parman, Terre Parman, Darrel Starkey, and Jason Everts.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday September 15th at Thomas Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M.
