Laura Ozella Jones

Monday, April 09, 2007 Mrs. Laura Ozella Jones, age 91 OF #77 East Forty Drive, Calhoun, Ga. died today (Monday) April 9th in Starcrest Nursing Home in Cartersville following an extended illness. Mrs. Jones was born in Sinclair County, Alabama on October 8, 1915 daughter of the late Marion M. McEntyre and Ethel Lithonia Sample McEntyre. She was a member of Calhoun Church of Christ, was a homemaker and in addition to her parents was preceded in death by her first husband Carl W. Fowler Sr, her second husband; R.A. Jones, a son; Carl W. Fowler Jr, a sister: Rugh Winningham and a brothers; R.T. and Dan McEntyre. Survivors include three daughters; Linda Victor of Acworth, Ga., Hilda Holcomb of Smyrna, Ga., and Joyce Bowen of Calhoun, grandchildren include; Tammy Cowart, Sandy Maddox, Shay Bingham, Rodney Holcomb. Alicia Henderson, Andy Bowen, Dawn Brock and Carla Huff. 15 Great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday April 10th from the Calhoun Church of Christ at 1301 Dews Pond Rd., with Minister Frank Mills and Minister Scott Sides officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at the Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving include Raymond Cowart, David Maddox Jr, Doug Bingham, Rodney Holcomb, Andy Bowen, Joel Henderson, Devon Brock, Bill Huff, Rodney Holcomb and J.K. Farriba and they are asked to meet at the Church at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the N.W. Ga. Christian Academy at 1301 Dews Pond Rd. Calhoun, Ga. 30701 The family will receive friends at the Calhoun Church of Christ on the Dews Pond Rd. from 4:00 P.M. and the funeral will follow in the Church Sanctuary at 7:00 P.M.
