Larry J. Dodd

Larry J. Dodd, age 65, of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday March 6th at his residence. Larry was born November 3, 1947 in Gordon County, son of the late Roy Richard Dodd and Dorothy Poarch Dodd, he was employed as a crew foreman with the City of Calhoun’s Water Department prior to his retirement and was a member of the Plainville Masonic Lodge #364. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Dodd. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Pruitt Dodd of Calhoun, one daughter, Erin Childers and her husband Brian of Calhoun, one brother, Roy Dodd and his wife Angela of Armuchee, his step-father, Ronnie Ellis of Calhoun, two grandchildren, Allie and Trevor Childers along with several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday March 9th at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hogan and Rev. Albert Fields officiating with burial to follow in Haven of Rest with Masonic Honors provided by the Plainville Masonic Lodge. Pallbearers serving include; Mitchell Dodd, Greg Dodd, Lachance Dodd, Gregory Dodd, Dallas Cobb, Roy McBrayer, and Trevor Childers. The Plainville Masonic Lodge will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family wishes to thank Jerrie McDougle, RN., for the special love and care she gave Larry and the family during his illness. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home. Thomas Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements for Larry J. Dodd.
