Lamar York

Lamar York, age 88 of Plainville, GA, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Winthrop Health & Rehabilitation in Rome, GA.

Lamar was born on February 4, 1934 in Gordon County, GA, son of the late Claude York and Lucille Brown York. Lamar was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Plainville Masonic Lodge and attended the Plainville United Methodist Church. Prior to his retirement Lamar worked as a bus driver for the Gordon County School System. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving companion Lillian Reese.

Lamar is survived by: his loved ones, Gary Reese and his wife Sandy, and their children, Brandon, Alison, and Blair; and special friend, Melba Nicholson.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at 2 PM in Scott Cemetery with Reverend Dutch Scott officiating.
