Mr. Lamar "Whitey" Patterson

Mr. Lamar “Whitey” Patterson, age 83 of Calhoun, Ga., passed away on Tuesday, May 21^st, 2024, at a local healthcare facility. 

Mr. Patterson was born in Gordon County on March 19^th, 1941, to the late James Owens Patterson and the late Thelma Thurman Patterson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Rheba Jo Patterson; one grandson, Cody Warren; one granddaughter, Marianna Ray. Mr. Patterson was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and a member of the Welcome Gap Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his son, Timothy Patterson and his wife, Robin; two daughters, Kathy Ray and her husband, Greg, and Patty Talley and her husband, Keith; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 25^th, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Dino Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery with Rev. Keith Talley officiating. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers include Bradley Patterson, Dylan Patterson, Justin Patterson, Zack Talley, Henry Harstine, Jared Wilson, Blake Warren, Ethan Warren, and Justin Johnson. 

Honorary Pallbearers include Steve Watkins, Kenneth Bryson, Jerry Holsomback, Herman Patterson, and Bob Russell. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 24^th from 5 PM until 7 PM at the funeral home.
