Kenny Joe Dixon

Kenny Joe Dixon, age 60 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Floyd Medical Center.

Kenny was born on November 2, 1960 in Gordon County, GA, son of the late Richard Roy Dixon and Patsy Jacks Dixon. In addition to his parents, Kenny was also preceded in death by: a brother, Rodney Dixon; and father-in-law, Bobby Butler. Kenny was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.

We celebrate what we would call a life taken too soon, but what he would call a life lived to the fullest. Kenny Joe Dixon was the owner and operator of KJ’s Auto Sales, where he was a beloved and trusted car salesman and friend. When Kenny wasn’t selling cars, he was racing them. As an avid drag racer Kenny traveled across the southeast, making new friends that he considered family wherever he went. He always hoped there was a golden dragstrip up in heaven. The only thing more important to Kenny than cars was what he always called, “my beautiful wife.” Kenny and his beautiful wife, Penny, loved each other for 42 years and celebrated 33 years of a wonderful marriage. Not only was Kenny the most loving and caring husband, but the best father his daughter, Shelby, could have ever asked for. The love between this family is unimaginable, and without him a piece of our heart is missing. Kenny will not only be missed by his family, but all his friends who he treated as family that knew him as the jokester, the candy man, and the life of the party.

Kenny is survived by: his wife, Penny Butler Dixon; daughter, Shelby Dixon Robinson and her husband Marc; brother, Jeff Dixon and his wife Rita; two sisters, Songa Dixon and Angie Brumlow and her husband Chad; nieces and nephews, Kelsey Dixon, Keena Profitt, Adam Moore, Naomi Dixon, Blair Spector Williams, Brannon Spector, Baylon Spector, Lauren Talley, Brooke Talley, Corey Konter, Savannah Konter, Branson Fair, and Trey Fair; sisters-in-law, Candi Talley and her husband Charles, Angie Konter and her husband David, and Tina Fair and her husband Eddie; brother-in-law, Mitch Butler; mother-in-law, Betty Butler; and his dog, Maddux.
