Kenneth Dale Dempsey, age 85, of Calhoun, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at his residence.
Dale was born on January 30, 1932, in Gordon County to the late Alton and Bessie Goode Dempsey. He was employed by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, retiring after 46 years. He also served in the Headquarter Company, First Battalion, 108th Armor, Georgia Army National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post #47 and Calhoun Elks Lodge B.P.O.E #1883.
Dale is survived by his wife of 61 years, Katherine Haley Dempsey of Calhoun; son, Ken Dempsey and his wife Jean of Mobile, Alabama; a daughter, Kathy Blackwell and her husband Bruce of Tunnel Hill; five grandsons, Peter Dempsey and his wife Lauren, Conner Dempsey and his wife Tara of Mobile, Alabama, Philip Dempsey of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Matthew Blackwell and his wife Keri and Thomas Blackwell of Tunnel Hill; and three great-grandchildren, Noah and Amelia Dempsey and McCoy Blackwell. Also surviving are sisters, Barbara Densmore of Canton and Joan Roebuck and her husband Doug of Calhoun.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. John Barber officiating. The grandsons and Terry Mills will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 09, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Miracle League of Whitfield County, located at 774 Lafayette Road, Rocky Face, Georgia 30740, where his daughter is a faithful and devoted volunteer or to the Calhoun First Baptist Building Fund located at P.O box 785 Calhoun, Georgia 30703.
