Mr. Keith Streeter Smith of Carrollton, GA, age 68, passed away at home on April 2, 2025. He was born on May 7, 1956, in Calhoun, Georgia, to the late Luther Clifton Smith and Willie Kate Burch Smith.


Keith graduated from Calhoun High School in 1974 where he excelled in numerous sports. He also graduated with degrees from Shorter University, University of West Georgia, & Jacksonville State University. His entire career was in public education where he coached at West Rome High School, Rockmart High School, and Carrollton High School. He held the position of Athletics Director at Oconee County High School near his beloved Athens, Georgia. He also served in system administration at Carrollton City Schools, as Principal of Carrollton High School and Woodland (AL) High School, and as Assistant Principal of Villa Rica High School.


One of his great loves was high school wrestling where he became well known as one of the best officials in Georgia.

Celebrating his retirement, he could be found almost daily with his golfing brotherhood dissecting the good, bad, and ugly shots of the day or maintaining his meticulous lawn with a wry smile saying….. “Look at that grass!”


Keith was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donny Lee Smith; and his son, Noah Wyn Smith.


He is survived by his wife, Sally “Grace” Beckham Smith; son, Cody (Lorrie) Smith; stepsons, Cade (Kasin) Parian, Jake (Amanda) Parian, and Grant (Paige) Parian; and his prides and joys, his grandchildren who adored him, Hudson, Cooper, Beckham, Quinn, Bennett, Hollis, Hatton, Lowry, Everett, & Greer. He is also survived by his brother, Clifton (Judy) Smith and his niece, Sabrina (Keith) Thomas.


The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.


A Celebration of Life will follow at First Baptist Church, 102 Dixie Street, Carrollton, GA, on April 8, 2025, at 2:00 pm with Dr. David Hughes and Cade Parian officiating.


Inurnment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.
