Kathryn Long Serritt

Kathryn Long Serritt, age 74 of Sugar Valley, died Saturday afternoon August 11th in Gordon Health Care. Kathryn was born October 15, 1937 in Murray County, daughter of the late Hughes F. and Bessie Singleton Long. She was a member of the Sugar Valley Church of God and besides her parents was preceded in death by a daughter, Dena Dean as well as three brothers, Will D. Long, Martin Long, and Junior Long. Survivors include one son, David Ingle of Dalton, one sister, Betty Walraven and her husband Tony of Resaca, one brother, Hubert Long and his wife Virginia of Resaca. One grandson, Jeremy Dean and three great-grandchildren, Karlie, Elana and Victoria Dean. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday August 14th at 1pm from the Sugar Valley Church of God with Rev. Dewaine Shadix officiating with burial to follow in the Old Sugar Valley Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 until 8pm at the Sugar Valley Church of God.
