Monday, September 10, 2007 Mrs. Kathleen “Kathy” Parker Rhodes, age 80 of Calhoun died at 11:50 PM, Sunday, September 9 after an extended illness. She was born, March 31, 1927 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Lon Parker and Ina Bearden Parker. Also, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald McCauley; her second husband, Grady L. Rhodes; one sister, Mildred Parker Greeson; a daughter, Paula Lynn McCauley Young, and one step-grandchild. Kathy was a former resident of Mason, Ohio and was employed by General Electric of Cincinnati. She had lived in Calhoun for 20 years after her retirement. She was a member of the Sequoyah Garden Club for many years and the Calhoun First Presbyterian Church. Kathy is survived by two step-sons, Scott Rhodes of Columbia, South Carolina and Greg Rhodes of Ohio; two nieces, Ann Greeson, Sue Greeson Erwin and her husband David, one nephew, Van Greeson and his wife Joann all of Calhoun; two great nieces, Tara Erwin Coiner and her husband, Dan , and a great nephew Vance Coiner all of Calhoun, and Rachel Erwin of Macon; several additional great nieces and nephews; and 3 step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 11 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Ken Waddell officiating. Eleanor Frost will have charge of music. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Dan Coiner, David Erwin, Keith Parker, Nath Jordan, Ron Jackson, and Howard Frost. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 AM, Tuesday.
